E. James Ferland , , , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Jim Ferland is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the commercial nuclear power and utility industry, Ferland joined B&W in April 2012 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Before that, he served as President of the Americas division at Westinghouse Electric Company.

Ferland also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Louisiana Energy Services (LES), where LES obtained a combined construction and operating license for an enrichment plant issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, among several other accomplishments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ferland gained extensive power generation operation and leadership experience with various U.S.-based utilities.

Ferland holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a master’s in business administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Jenny L. Apker , , , Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Jenny Apker is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

She joined B&W in June 2010 as Vice President and Treasurer, and assumed added responsibility for the Investor Relations function in August 2012.

Prior to joining B&W, Apker served as Vice President and Treasurer of Dex One Corporation (formerly R.H. Donnelley Corporation), a marketing services company, from 2003 -2010. Before that, she was Assistant Treasurer at Allied Waste Industries, Inc., a waste services company, from 1998-2003.

Her experience includes serving as Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank/First Interstate Bank of Arizona, and in a number of positions in Corporate Finance and Treasury at Greyhound Financial Corporation. Apker began her professional career in 1979 as a Financial Accountant at The Greyhound Corporation.

Apker holds a bachelor’s degree from Rice University, where she obtained degrees in managerial studies and political science.

Mark S. Low , , , Senior Vice President, Power

Mark Low is Senior Vice President, Global Services Division, for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and service for power and industrial markets worldwide.

He is responsible for all of the company’s domestic and international service business.

From 2013 to March 2015, Low was Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Global Services Division. Before that, from 2012 to 2013, he was Vice President and General Manager of B&W’s Environmental Products and Services Division, responsible for all aspects of the company’s environmental products and services business. From 2007 to 2012, he served as Vice President, Service Projects, in which he led all technical and commercial aspects of the company’s service business including project management, forecasting, costing, cost forecasting, and warranty resolution.

Low initially joined B&W in 1979 as a Field Service Engineer. In 1983, he became an Account Sales Engineer and held this position until 1989 when he left the company to serve as Vice President of Sales for Tampella Power Corporation of Finland.

Low rejoined B&W in 1997 as Director of International Sales for the South American/Caribbean market and the global Pulp and Paper market. He later served as Manager of Business Development for the company’s former Fossil Power Division, responsible for setting strategies and leading teams to secure large steam generator and air quality control contracts from the domestic utility market. After that, he served as Senior Program Manager, responsible for all new boiler and flue gas desulfurization projects with American Electric Power, one of B&W’s largest customers.

A native of Old Tappan, N.J., Low graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Penn., with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. He also has completed numerous executive leadership and management courses. For the last eight years, Low has served on the Board of the B&W subsidiary company, B&W Vølund of Denmark, and also serves on the HMC Hospice of Medina County Board of Directors.

Jimmy B. Morgan , , , Senior Vice President, Renewable

Jimmy Morgan is Senior Vice President, Renewable for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W). He is responsible for the company’s renewable energy business, including its Babcock & Wilcox Vølund subsidiary and B&W’s operations and maintenance services businesses. He was named to his position in December 2016.

Prior to that, Morgan was Senior Vice President of Operations, responsible for B&W’s Global Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain Management, Quality, Facility Services, and Environmental, Health, Safety & Security functions. He also was responsible for Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., Inc.

Morgan has been in the global energy and construction industry for more than 25 years, and has considerable large project management, operations and construction experience. He joined B&W in February 2016 as Vice President and General Manager, Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., Inc., serving in that position until he was named Vice President, Operations, in May 2016, and Senior Vice President of Operations in August 2016. Before joining B&W, he was Executive Vice President for Allied Technical Resources, Inc. Previous positions included serving as Chief Operating Officer with BHI Energy, Vice President of Installation and Modification Services with Westinghouse, and as Managing Director for AREVA T&D. He began his career with Duke Energy.

Morgan has a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of South Carolina, and is currently in the last year of his master’s of business administration degree.

Kenneth Zak , , , Senior Vice President, B&W MEGTEC

Ken Zak is Senior Vice President, Industrial Environmental, for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

A strategic leader with a breadth of experience in global industrial, energy and environmental markets, Zak is responsible for B&W’s Industrial Environmental business, which includes its B&W MEGTEC operations.

Prior to assuming his current position in May 2015, Zak was Senior Vice President of Business Operations for B&W MEGTEC. From September 2003 to December 2012, he served as Vice President of the Industrial & Environmental Products Group. From September 1997 to September 2003, he was Director of Marketing & Business Development. He joined B&W MEGTEC in 1992 as Director of Marketing Services.

Before that, he held positions with W.R. Grace & Co. and Owens Corning Fiberglas, primarily serving in commercial development roles at corporate research facilities.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in industrial administration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.

Francesco Racheli , , , Senior Vice President, Babcock & Wilcox SPIG

Francesco Racheli is Senior Vice President, Babcock & Wilcox SPIG, a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

Prior to B&W’s July 1, 2016 acquisition of SPIG, an Arona, Italy-based provider of custom-engineered cooling systems and services, Racheli served as Chief Executive Officer of the SPIG Group and General Manager before that since May 2014.

From 2009-2014, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Finder Exploration Pty Ltd., a global pump manufacturer for the energy, oil and gas markets.

From 1997-2008, Racheli worked for General Electric Oil & Gas, first as a Marketing Analyst in Florence, Italy, in 1997, then as part of the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Team in 2000. In 2001, he served as M&A Manager for GE in Houston, Texas, and in 2003, he was the Strategic Planning Manager for the GE Energy Division in Atlanta, Ga.

He returned to Florence in 2005 as Marketing Director for GE Oil & Gas Turbomachinery, then in 2007 served as General Manager of GE Oil &Gas Flow Equipment, a business unit with 100 employees and revenues exceeding $250 million. In 2008, he was part of GE’s Africa Business Management Course.

Racheli has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of La Sapienza in Rome, and an undergraduate degree in classical studies from Liceo Classico Cornelio Tacito.

Elias Gedeon is Senior Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), which is a leader in energy and environmental products and service for power and industrial markets worldwide.

Gedeon has more than 30 years of experience in the power generation industry and has held various sales, operations and P&L leadership positions in the U.S. and overseas.

Prior to joining B&W in May 2014, he served as Alstom Power’s Boiler Group Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing since 2009, and from 2003 as Alstom’s Power Vice President Sales - Americas.

From 1981 to 2002, Gedeon held a number of positions of increasing responsibility at Foster Wheeler Power Group and its subsidiaries including Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing; and Vice President, Operations, Foster Wheeler Energia S.A. Spain. He began his professional career as a service engineer with Foster Wheeler Energy in 1981 and has worked and lived in many countries.

Gedeon holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and an Executive MBA from the University of Michigan.

In his position, Carano provides leadership and direction as the company identifies, evaluates and pursues new business opportunities and strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Since joining B&W in 2013, Carano had served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Treasurer. Prior to that, he served as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York since 1996. Carano also worked in the Investment Banking Group of Deutsche Bank in New York, London and Baltimore.

Chase Jacobson is Vice President, Investor Relations, for Babcock & Wilcox. He also held various Analyst positions at Jefferies Group from 2007 to 2008 and at Prudential Equity Group from 2005 to 2007.

From August 2013 to March 2015, Hall served as Assistant General Counsel, Transactions and Compliance, responsible for corporate legal activities relating to global compliance, international trade compliance and mergers and acquisitions.

He has more than 20 years of legal experience in the aerospace, defense and chemical industries. His diverse legal background includes mergers and acquisitions, ethics and compliance, products liability litigation and international business transactions.

Prior to joining B&W, Hall served as Global Business Practices & Compliance Officer for UTC Aerospace Systems, following United Technologies’ acquisition of Charlotte-based Goodrich Corporation. From 2000 to 2013, he held several roles of increasing responsibility at Goodrich, including serving as Goodrich’s Vice President of Business Conduct and Chief Ethics Officer.

He received his undergraduate degree from Furman University and his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.

Jim Muckley is Senior Vice President of Operations for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W). He is responsible for B&W’s Global Project Management Office, Manufacturing, Quality, and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security functions. He also is responsible for Babcock & Wilcox Construction Co., Inc. He was named to his position in December 2016.

Muckley previously served as Vice President, Global Parts and Services, within the company’s Power Segment, responsible for the company’s worldwide parts and field engineering services business. Before that, he served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility including Vice President, B&W Parts, in which he was responsible for the aftermarket parts business for B&W’s boiler and environmental product lines, as well as for its boiler cleaning, controls and diagnostics operations, and ash handling products in the Americas. He joined B&W in 1979 at the company’s Research Center.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Malone University.

Leslie Kass is Senior Vice President, Industrial, for Babcock & Wilcox (B&W), a leader in energy and environmental products and services for power and industrial markets worldwide.

Named to this position in May 2017, Kass leads B&W’s Industrial segment, including its B&W SPIG, B&W MEGTEC and B&W Universal subsidiaries, and its Industrial Steam Generation group. B&W’s Industrial segment provides custom-engineered technologies for cooling, environmental, noise abatement and industrial steam generation applications, as well as related aftermarket services.

Previously, Kass was Vice President of Retrofits and Continuous Emissions Monitoring for B&W’s Power segment, leading the company’s global retrofits business and working closely with customers to develop solutions for their steam generation and environmental needs. Before that, she held positions as Vice President, Investor Relations & Communications, and as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining B&W, Kass held a number of engineering and project management-related positions of increasing responsibility with Westinghouse, Entergy and Duke Energy.

Kass has a degree in materials science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master’s in business administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
